About Cosplay Registration

In addition to an AnimeJapan admission ticket, you will need to register to participate in cosplay at the AnimeJapan venue.
Cosplay Registration can be done at AnimeJapan 2025 venue, in the Cosplay Area (East Hall 7)

The early morning changing room cloakroom will open before AnimeJapan opens.
Change into cosplay as early as possible to enjoy the day!

*Use is limited to registered cosplayers only.

Photo Frame to Announce Participation

Post a photo using the photo frame to announce your participation in cosplay!

Important Notice

If you are participating in cosplay, please follow the rules stated below in order not to disturb other visitors.
This time, these rules include the rules related to COVID-19. The organizer assumes no responsibility for any accidents or troubles.
Behaviors that cause trouble to other visitors and dangerous actions are prohibited.
If you do not follow the rules or the instructions of the staff, you may be asked to leave the venue. In such case, your registration fee will not be refunded.

About Cosplay and Admission

  • ・Cosplay registration (registration fee: JPY 1,000 tax included/day) is required for cosplayers in addition to the AnimeJapan admission ticket.
    *The reception for cosplay registration is located in front of the changing room. 
    *If you made a registration, you may use the changing room without limitation on the day.
    *If you lose your cosplay registration card, you will need to purchase it again since it cannot be reissued.
  • ・Visitors are not allowed to enter, exit, or go home from the venue in cosplay.
  • ・Cosplayers are required to change clothes before leaving Big Sight.
  • ・Individual or group sales and marketing activities such as handing sales promotion materials and flyers without permission are strictly prohibited.
    Other actions that the organizer deems inappropriate may be prohibited.

About the Use of the Early Morning Changing Room and Early Morning Cloakroom

  • ・The cosplay changing room and cloakroom are available to use before AnimeJapan opens.
  • ・The opening hours of these rooms are from 7:00 am until 8:30 am (closes at 8:30 am).
  • ・After using the early morning cosplay changing room and cloakroom, cosplayers shall enter the venue from the general entrance.

About Changing Clothes

  • ・Please use the changing room in the venue to change clothes. Cosplay registration (paid) is required for use.
    *Changing clothes and applying makeup at nearby facilities or inside the venue bathrooms are not allowed.
  • ・The changing room is available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.(The last admission is 4:30 pm. An early morning changing room service is available separately.)
    *Leaving personal belongings in the changing room is not allowed. Please use the cloakroom.
    *Photography is not allowed in the changing rooms, regardless of whether it is with a camera, cell phone or smartphone. Lens caps must be attached to cameras in the changing rooms. Please do not take out your smartphone except in case of emergency. (Please refrain from using your smartphone as a mirror or viewing images for makeup reference.)
    *Use of volatile substances or substances with strong smells like hair spray and nail polish are not allowed in the changing room.

About Luggage

  • ・A cloakroom is available. Cosplay registration (paid) is required for use.
    *Unlimited access to the cloakroom on the day.
    *Cloakroom spaces are limited. Please note that we may not accept your luggage.
  • ・The cloakroom is available from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • ・We assume no responsibility for loss of, theft of, or damage to your luggage. Please take care of your valuables.
  • ・The cloakroom is reserved for registered cosplayers only.

About Prohibited Items in the Venue

  • ・Toy weapons are allowed only if they do not violate the Swords and Firearms Possession Control Law.
  • ・Please keep your toy weapons in a bag when carrying them in to avoid disturbing other visitors.
  • ・Please disassemble long or large objects when carrying them in to avoid disturbing other visitors.
  • ・Extremely sharp objects and operable air guns are prohibited. Also, depending on the material, we may refuse them to be brought inside. In such case, we will keep them in the cloakroom.
  • ・Items that may damage or stain other visitors or the venue are prohibited.
  • ・Flammable and hazardous items are prohibited.
  • ・Actions like swinging or throwing toy weapons, bats, rackets, balls, etc. inside the venue are prohibited.
  • ・Fragile items such as glassware and ceramics that may be broken and scattered are prohibited.
  • ・Items that violate Article 175 of the Penal Code and the Child Pornography Act are prohibited.
  • ・Other items that the staff deems as dangerous or a nuisance on the day may be confiscated and returned later.

About Costumes

  • ・Highly revealing costumes as well as costumes that make others feel uncomfortable are not allowed.
    If you wear such costumes, you may be asked to leave the venue, or your photoshoot may be canceled or interrupted. In such case, your registration fee will not be refunded.
  • ・Excessively revealing or underwear-like costumes are prohibited.
  • ・Use underwear or body foundation for costumes that do not cover the bottom or sides of your breasts.
  • ・Costumes worn without underwear, costumes where underwear can be seen between the gap of the costume and your breast or armpit, or costumes where underwear can be seen through are prohibited.
  • ・Use body foundation or a chest binder for female cosplayers wearing widely open-chest male character costumes.
  • ・Wearing extremely low-rise skirts and short pants is prohibited.
  • ・Wear leggings or pantyhoses to avoid underwear from being directly exposed.
  • ・We may ask cosplayers wearing swimsuits or leotards to wear a jacket or change their costume, even if they are using supporters or pantyhoses.
  • ・When the staff deems your costume highly revealing, even if you follow the above rules, you shall wear a jacket or shawl at all times when you move around the venue.
    *Although there are no restrictions on the upper body for male cosplayers, cover your body with a jacket to limit exposure when you are not taking photos.
  • ・When the staff deems your costume problematic, you may be asked to change the costume or to wear a jacket regardless of the above rules. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  • ・Wearing current uniforms of persons of authority such as police officers, self-defense officers, and firefighters are not allowed.
  • ・Costumes that restrict visibility (using masks, eyepatches, etc.) and make it difficult to move around (large paper-mache costumes, mascot costumes, oversized costumes, or costumes with large accessories, etc.) cannot be worn outside of the Cosplay Areas.
  • ・Other costumes that the staff deems inappropriate on the day may not be worn.

About Photo Shooting

  • ・Please take photos in the designated areas. Cosplay photography is not allowed outside of the permitted locations.
  • ・Please receive permission from cosplayers before taking their pictures.
  • ・Photo shoots that may disturb other visitors or taking poses that destroy public order are prohibited.
    Also, you shall not force cosplayers to pose.
  • ・Use of photographic equipment with stands, etc. such as large flash or lights is not allowed.
  • ・Commercial use of photos taken in the venue is not allowed.
  • ・Please note that the use of photography equipment, tripods, etc. may be restricted if the indoor cosplay area becomes crowded due to weather or other reasons.
  • ・If we discover any photo shooting without the permission of cosplayers or any photo shooting from an angle or of body parts that the cosplayer does not expect, we will ask you to leave the venue immediately.
  • If we discover any persistent requests to photograph a subject, or any behavior that could be considered stalking by us, we will ask the you to leave the venue immediately.
  • ・If you are warned by us about your inappropriate behavior and improvement is not seen, we will ask you to leave the venue immediately.
     Please note that no refunds for admission fees will be made.
  • ・Photography is prohibited inside or at the entrance of the male and female changing rooms and bathrooms.
  • ・Do not occupy a photo shooting area for too long. The staff may ask such a person to leave.
  • ・Do not use large photography equipment which may obstruct pathways.
  • ・Do not use excessively large telephoto lenses.
  • ・Regarding photo shooting and communication etiquette, please behave sensibly and do not make others feel uncomfortable.

About Media Interviews

  • ・Media reporters will visit the venue. If they ask you to do an interview, check their "PRESS pass" and agree at your own risk.
    The organizer may take photos of the venue for recording and publicity purposes. Please note that you may be accidentally photographed.

Prohibited Conduct

  • 1. Secret photography or photography without permission from cosplayers
  • 2. Uploading photos to a network or posting and publishing them on media, such as magazines or books, without permission from cosplayers
  • 3. Taking excessively low-angle shots
  • 4. Photo shoots that may disturb other visitors or taking poses that destroy public order, forcing cosplayers to pose or to shake hands, forced physical contact such as couple selfies
  • 5. Capturing see-through images with infrared photography and other devices

*If you do not follow the above rules, the staff may decide to stop your photo shoot, delete your media data, or confiscate your equipment, ask you to leave the venue or take other appropriate measures.
