“Hana Kanzashi (hair accessories)” are made with the concept of “that which would look good on Sae Kobayakawa.” “Yume no Saki e (Beyond Dreams)” is conceptualized taking 14 persons from the Cinderella Project and expressing them as shining stars. Both are detailed and beautiful wagasa (traditional Japanese umbrellas).

Regarding the work of art “GIFU-WAGASA”
Kano District, Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, is the main producing region. The process is known to be the most complex among many other sophisticated craftworks. Each process is divided down into small segments, which are done by manual labor. This traditional craftwork is well known as the special product of Minokuni since Edo period.

Regarding the work of art “KAGAWA-SHIKKI”
It started from researching lacquer ware techniques that have been derived from Thailand or China during the latter half of the Edo era, and then creating a new method by adding to that the techniques from ancient Japan.

A beautiful handkerchief with a pattern of pines with the mutsugo sextuplets characters and cute, deformed dot design which is colored carefully one color at a time using paper mold and brush.

Regarding the work of art “KYO-YUZEN”
This is a dying technique devised by the painter Yuzensai Miyazaki during the Genroku era.
Even while using many colors, a beautiful sense breathes in the dignified and graceful Kyoyuzen, cultivated by the history of Kyoto.

Regarding the work of art “KYO-KUMIHIMO”

Regarding the work of art “SHIGARAKI-YAKI”
This includes pottery that is made in the village of Shigaraki in the south of Shiga Prefecture. Counted as one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, it has a history of 1250 years and is famous as the ornament of raccoon dogs. It has the characteristic of a simple beauty that gives life to so-called unlacquered surfaces of sober refinement and patina. While being plain, it has a novel attractiveness.

Regarding the work of art “TAMAMUSHI-NURI”

Regarding the work of art “IGA-YAKI”
Fired with relatively large pebbles mixed in, it has the characteristic of being similar to the goby (the stones, etc., melt and rise to the surface). A rustic charm, the strong shape of the object itself, and solid colors are characteristics of IGA-YAKI.

This is a beautiful, glamorous ballpoint pen designed taking as a base the color “gold”, the image color of Gilgamesh with a pattern of command spells and armor incorporated in “blue”. The KANAZAWA-HAKU is designed using “blue foil” in the blue portions.

Regarding the work of art “KANAZAWA-HAKU”
This a curtain for light and is gold foil where the thickness is just 1/10,000 of a millimeter or two. Adding to the climate of Kanazawa, experience and inventiveness have cultivated foil production techniques, and these have been passed down to the present day. A flexible and beautiful gold or silver foil that emits light has given life to works of applied arts and has supported the culture of the Kaga Domain, which famously boasts “one million koku.”
