Open Theater

Open Theater is an admission-free theater that presents some of the renowned anime. It screens different anime each day and this time, it sets the main theme as “idol anime” and “robot anime.” The theater operates with support by Newtype magazine, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015.

“idol Anime” and “Robot Anime”
Anime often reflects strong desire and adoration from its audience.
Some people project their desire to be glamorously spotlighted into idols.
Others entrust their aspiration to be big and mighty with robots.
Behind the history of a number of “idol anime” and “robot anime” created in the past, there exist such wishes of the audience. Therefore, watching “idol anime” and “robot anime” can also mean reassuring those wishes we all have in our deep bottom.

The last episode shows the protagonist idols competing in the idol festival where their rivals come from the entire country. The group leader comes up on stage while severely injured, showing their resolution to fight till the end. The story is also notable for its realistic and dark aspects of this world, by showing perspectives from fans and producers.
